MONDAY
Jesus is at Bethany.
People
are reminded that he raised Lazarus from the dead.
"and now Mary brought a pound of pure spikenard
ointment, which was very precious, and poured it
over Jesus' feet, wiping his feet with her hair;
the whole house was scented with the ointment. JOHN 12: 1-9
TUESDAY
We consider the
approaching season as far as possible from Our
Lord's point of view.
"Is there any
sorrow, like unto my sorrow?"
Here where He seems
at last He seemed to be recognized, and in worldly
eyes at the point of his greatest triumph.
Teaching each day in the temple, 'at home' every
night to Bethany. and yet He faces temptation,
bitterness and the knowledge that those closest to
him still do not know Him for Who he is.
"He came to His own,
and His own
knew him not.
WEDNESDAY
Hear my prayer, O LORD,
and let my cry come unto thee.
Hide not thy face
from me in the day of my trouble; incline thine
ear unto me: in the day [when] I call answer me
speedily. For my days are consumed like smoke, and
my bones are burned as an hearth.
My heart is smitten,
and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat
my bread.
By reason of the
voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
I am like a pelican
of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
I watch, and am as a
sparrow alone upon the house top.
Mine enemies
reproach me all the day; [and] they that are mad
against me are sworn against me.
For I have eaten
ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with
weeping,
Because of thine
indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me
up, and cast me down.
My days [are] like a
shadow that declineth; and I am withered like
grass.

once
He said:
You have heard that it was
said,
'An eye for an eye and
a tooth for a tooth.'
But I say to you,
Do not resist one who
is evil."
ever wondered how
you do that ?
- in real life I mean..
" I say to
you,
Love your enemies
and pray for those who
persecute you,
so that you may be
children of your Father
who is in heaven;
for He makes his sun
rise on the evil
and on the good, and
sends rain
on the just,
and on the unjust."
watch Him,
you're about to find out.
He kept his own
word.
True Son
of
True God.
O Christ,
I see thy crown of
thorns in every eye,
thy bleeding, naked,
wounded body in every soul;
thy death liveth in
every memory;
thy crucified Person
is embalmed in every affection;
thy pierced feet are
bathed in everyone's tears;
and it is my
privilege
to enter with thee,
into every soul.
