Logon: Nick names
pick a nickname and alternate nick 

Initial user modes: 
put a check by invisible on server and
recieve server messages also check auto connect 

pirch tool bar 
click on prefs:
click on general.
under private notice destination put a check by active window
private messages/notices:
check use dedicated message window and suppress message interrups
scroll: buffer size should have 500 lines
server connection timeout should be 30
put a check by auto reconnect on disconnct
MISC:
check hide server ping/pong
check enhanced events format
check auto join if kicked
check whois on private messages
check auto rewrap text
check timestamp acitivity 
default sign off message put your quit message 
edit height adjust should be at 4
OPS: 
channel operator panel:check op control panel when ops are granted
check always prompt for kick messages
Ban method should be set to: ident,server (*!@*server)
LOGS: 
auto Log:check channels
check private messages
check server messages. 
auto reset logs.your choice 
Media:
sound options:check all 4
Flood:
outgoing flood control: check enable flood control
flood delay rate 1000 flood limit 4
ctcp flood control:
check enable ctcp flood control
accept ctcp from an address no faster than 2000

Notify: put nicks you want to know if they are on line or not

Ignore:
nicks you dont want to talk to or see what they are saying.

click on options on tool bar
click on auto exe. commands 
if your nick is registered you can put /msg nickserv identify (password
also you can put your channels to join
example /join #Sanctuary
