VICKIE WRITES:

When I think of 'Forgiveness' one thing goes through my mind. All my life I've heard people say "I will forgive them but can't forget what they did to me". No, we may not forget it, but by praying for our own forgiveness, we can put it behind us and move on. In the Lord's prayer we pray, forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those you have trespassed against us. We are asking the Lord to forgive us just as we have forgave others. If we do not forgive others the sins they do against us, the Lord will not forgive us. (Matthew 6:14-15)  If we have an unforgiving spirit, we cannot be successful prayers. In Matthew 11:24-25 we read:  "Therefore I tell you, what ever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so your Father in heaven may forgive you your sin. My daily prayer is
Lord forgive those who have sinned against me. If I have sinned against them I ask your forgiveness. And, Lord give me the strength and courage to forgive myself.
-Amen
